A THEME BASED PARTY WORTH REMEMBERING

Theme Party

Recently one of our family friends invited our whole family for her daughter’s birthday. She had given a special birthday invitation card with the word “QUINCEANERA” written on the card. As we were not acquainted with the word we immediately searched for the meaning and understood that it is a special day in a girl’s life when she is due to attain her fifteenth year.

The ceremony was held in a church and the party was in the evening in the lawns of a five star hotel. The theme was global warming as she was always worried about the environment. All the arrangements and decorations were elaborately made.

The birthday girl was wearing a designer gown and looked pretty beautiful. She had accessorized it with dangling diamond earrings and had neatly done the hairdo. A musical band was performing to the recent hits. As it is considered to be a very auspicious day for the girl, so we gifted her special platter that had all the items needed for a girl to get decked out. It consisted of a designer sari which was ready to wear with fixed pleats and pallu, a matching clutch, a pair of stilettos, a designer bracelet and makeup kit from MAC.

The party began and guests attended in full flow and wished her luck and best wishes for the day. The dinner spread was a three course meal with soups, starters, non- vegetarian and vegetarian spread along with desserts. All of us enjoyed the meal a lot.

We were all very happy as the customs and traditions that we saw were new to us and were worth remembering. We returned home very satisfied. The morning after, around noon, the birthday girl rang up to say “thank you” for the gifts and it was one of the most beautiful and memorable gifts for her.

We were extremely pleased that she appreciated our choice of gifts.
