Strawberry Shortcake Party For the cake: Split a pre-made and cooled or store bought pound cake in thirds, lengthwise. On top of the bottom layer, evenly spread a thin layer of strawberry ice cream. Spoon or drizzle strawberry pie filling or glaze over that and then top with the middle cake layer. Repeat the layers until you get to the top. Drizzle glaze over the top, allowing it to run down the sides of the cake. Top with a dollop of whipped cream.
